Senator Robert Duncan has been a leader in the Texas Senate since 1996, when he won a special election to represent District 28. During the past 12 years, he has written bills to protect fairness in the legal system, ensure quality education, and enhance the economic viability of West Texas.

Senator Duncan has earned a coveted spot on the Senate Finance Committee each legislative session dating back to 2001. Compounding that victory for West Texas, Senator Duncan has also had a seat on the Finance Conference Committee, which hashes out the final appropriations bill to establish the state budget.

Senator Duncan has served in several key chairmanships during his Senate tenure. During the past three legislative seasons, he led the Senate State Affairs Committee as chairman. This committee addresses crucial statewide issues impacting all Texans. He is also a member of the Senate Natural Resources Committee and the Senate Jurisprudence Committee.

Senator Duncan’s tenure in the Senate has been highlighted by honors based on his tireless work ethic, keen understanding of complicated policy, and stellar reputation. Texas Monthly has three times named him among the state’s 10 best legislators. The esteemed publication has also listed Senator Duncan as a “Texas Super Lawyer” for his professional reputation in the private sector.
